Which to use
If uploading statements is acceptable and you need features we do not have yet (such as scanned-document support), an upload-based converter is a reasonable choice. If you would rather keep statements on your own machine, or want each conversion checked against the closing balance before export, try CSVLedger above.
Frequently asked questions
Is CSVLedger the same as BankStatementConverter.com?
No. They are unrelated services. This page only uses publicly available information about BankStatementConverter.com.
Why compare on where files are processed?
Bank statements contain account numbers and personal or client financial data. Many accountants have policies about which services may receive client documents; browser-only processing sidesteps that question.
Is it free?
During the beta you can convert up to 10 pages per day in each browser without an account. Paid plans with higher limits are planned but not on sale yet; see the pricing page.
How do I know the conversion is correct?
Every conversion is checked against the statement itself: the opening balance plus credits minus debits must equal the closing balance printed on the statement, to the cent. If the statement prints a running balance, each row is checked too, and rows that do not match are highlighted in red. If the check fails you see it before you download anything.
